Find search queries worth a closer look
Find queries with low CTR or an average position just outside the top 10.
No signup. Your CSV stays in this browser tab. The tool does not upload or save it.
Choose a file, paste CSV, or try the synthetic sample.
Export the right Search Console file
- Open your property in Google Search Console. Go to Performance, then Search results.
- Choose your date range and search type. Enable Clicks, Impressions, Average CTR and Average position. Keep filters consistent when comparing exports.
- Select the Queries tab. Export as CSV, then extract the downloaded archive if needed. Choose the Queries.csv file, not Dates.csv or Pages.csv. Choosing a file fills the paste field. Analysis uses that text, including your edits.
- Use the English report headers listed above. Leave comparison mode off. Upload that file here, or paste its full contents including the header.
See Google's Performance report and export instructions.
How we choose queries to review
These are fixed review rules, chosen for this tool. They are not Google's benchmarks.
- Low CTR in top 10: at least 100 impressions, CTR below 2%, and average position from 1 through 10.
- Average position 10 to 20: at least 100 impressions and average position above 10 through 20.
Results sort by observed impressions, highest first. We use the exported CTR, where 1% means 0.01. A decimal without a percent sign must be a fraction, such as 0.01. The synthetic sample shows made-up Paidwick data, not customer results.
For each query, filter it in Search Console and inspect the Pages tab. Read the matching page and the search results. Check whether the page answers the query and whether its title describes that answer. Record a specific change to test, then compare the same measures over a comparable period.
What this CSV cannot tell you
Average position combines different searches, devices and locations. A position of 14 does not mean your page appears at position 14 for everyone. A low CTR alone does not explain why people did not click.
Query exports do not show every search. Google omits some queries for privacy, and report exports have limits. This tool cannot recover omitted rows or map queries to landing pages from a Queries export alone. It does not forecast extra clicks or promise rankings. Read Google's definitions of clicks, impressions and position and report guidance.
Questions about the keyword finder
Do you receive my Search Console data?
No. File reading, analysis and CSV export run in your browser. Closing or refreshing the tab clears the tool's data. Only send a CSV by email if you choose to share it.
Why are there no results?
Your exported rows may fall outside the fixed thresholds. Check the date range and filters. A longer period can include more impressions, but also combines more changes. No matches does not prove that your site needs no work.
Can I use a spreadsheet export?
Yes. Save it as comma-separated CSV with the required English headers. Quoted commas and line breaks work. Duplicate queries, incomplete rows and invalid numbers show an error so you can correct the file.
